As others said, an enjoyable read about an interesting racing period. Another good read along these lines is Lou Galanos’ story on Garner on the Lola Heritage site as well as his story about the 1970 12 Hours of Sebring and Steve McQueen. Love seeing all those great photos of cars and drivers, and look forward to more.

It is Wonderful to recap the Daytona 6 hour race, great photos by Louis Galanos. I recall some of the race as I was involved with the Greenwood BFG Corvette,which achieved over 200 mph for the first time on street tires.

Unless I’m mistaken in the group photo , left of Peter Revson photo, shows an individual facing camera with sunglasses, it is yours truly.
Keep Up the Great photos and recap, as so many around the world can appreciate the motorsports history of a Great era. Best Regards,

With time the memory fades but I seemed to remember that Giunti crashed the Alfa in practice. The car was repaired but not run because the coolant was run from the radiator to the engine through the tubular frame which was repaired but thought to be compromised. Alfa said, “We will start 3 cars and we will finish with 3 cars!” Guido
