2010 Scottsdale Auction Preview – Russo and Steele

Russo and Steele will hold its 10th annual Sports & Muscle in Scottsdale auction January 20-24, 2010 in Scottsdale, Arizona, offering more than 600 cars over five days, a big change from its first auction in January 2001 where only 45 automobiles crossed the block.

Russo and Steele auctions typically focus on European sports cars, American muscle cars, hot rods and custom and this year is no different, headlined by the 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Series II Cabriolet, 1960 Chrysler 300 F Special, 1955 Porsche Carrera Speedster Cabriolet, 1971 Plymouth Cuda 440/6 Convertible, 1968 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda Factory Racecar, 1948 Tucker 48 Convertible and 1962 Pontiac Catalina Super Duty.

The tenth anniversary celebration will be held at Russo and Steele’s traditional site located at the intersection of the loop 101 freeway and North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, Arizona. 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Series II Cabriolet - Completely restored by well-known authorities, Chassis 1803 GT has the original build sheets from Ferrari along with books and tools, full receipt file records along with both factory tops; shown at Pebble in 1991 and 2004.
1960 Chrysler 300 F 'Special' - NASCAR's all-time 'Flying Mile' record holder (class 7) with the speed of 144.927 mph; 11,000 mile survivor is the only unrestored, 4-speed model in existence.
1955 Porsche Carrera Speedster Cabriolet - 3rd of 151 factory-built Carrera Speedsters.
1971 Plymouth Cuda Convertible 440/6 - One of only seventeen 440/6 Cuda convertibles built in 1971 and the only one finished in Tawny gold; highest optioned Six Pack Cuda Convertible known to exist and one of only two with the shaker hood and bill-board stripes.
1968 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda Factory Racecar - Ex-Sox and Martin, option B029; fully documented from original owners to present.
1964 Plymouth Hemi Savoy - 1 of 55 original factory built race cars, of which approximately 10 are known to exist.
