Auctions America by RM Fall Carlisle 2011 – Auction Results

1959 DeSoto Firedome Convertible pictureAuctions America by RM hosted its inaugural Fall Carlisle auction on September 29 to October 1, 2011 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, resulting in $2.78 million in sales and a 55% sell-through rate.
Held as part of Carlisle Events’ Fall Carlisle Collector Car Weekend, the multi-day auction presented nearly 275 collector cars. Top sale at the Auctions America by RM Fall Carlisle 2011 went to 1959 DeSoto Firedome Convertible that realized a price of $99,000, followed by a 2001 BMW Z8 Roadster for $90,200 and a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible at $63,800.
“Despite the weather, Fall Carlisle was another great weekend and celebration of the collector car hobby. We’re very pleased with the results and interest levels in our 2011 Carlisle auctions – they’ve provided a great foundation for us to further build upon in 2012,” says Donnie Gould, President, Auctions America by RM.

Auctions America by RM offered 273 automobiles for sale, with 150 finding a new owner, reflecting a 55% sales rate. Total sales volume was $2,783,304, inclusive of buyer’s premiums. The average price per car sold was $18,555.

Next up, Auctions America by RM will host its first dedicated motorcycle auction in Birmingham, Alabama this weekend (October 8, 2011) in conjunction with the Barber Vintage Festival. The afternoon sale will present some 125 classic motorcycles, catering for a diverse range of tastes and budgets. In November, Auctions America by RM will wrap up its first full auction season with the presentation of the Lee Roy Hartung Collection, in Glenview, Illinois. The Hartung sale, scheduled November 3–5, 2011 will present over 2,000 lots at ‘no reserve’.
