Heaven is a half-open tonneau on an all-original, black plate MG TF. A bit of an overstatement, this. But it’s hard to look at the photo of this 1954 MG TF and not imagine the feeling of wooden steering wheel between the hands, sun on the back of the neck, and the distinctive growl of a British four cylinder engine in the ears. The seller claims this car is largely original with all bodywork, paint, and interior surfaces as they left the factory. Photos seem to bear this out with plenty of patina on the almond green paint (though it sure looks British Racing Green to us) and signs of carful use in both the interior and engine compartments. We particularly like that no one has undone the fine appearance this TF has earned over the last 58 years while all mechanical systems have been rebuilt for reliability’s sake. The result would appear to be a car that can be driven with confidence and without all of the worries that often accompany brand new paint jobs and perfect interiors. We love it.
