For ease of use, reliability and speed in a classic Porsche 911, nothing beats a 3.2-liter Carrera. And of these, it’s hard to beat this 36,000 mile, garage kept original. All 3.2 Carreras enjoyed the quintessential 911 chassis that remained largely unchanged since production started in 1965 but added to this increased engine displacement, improved engine oiling, heavily revised fuel injection and ignition systems, improved braking, revised suspension and a host of advances too numerous to mention. The result is a car that retains the character of the 911 but is far more reliable and fast. For better or worse this also resulted in most of these cars being put through their paces, and finding one today good condition is a difficult task. Photos of this 1985 3.2 Carrera reinforce the seller’s claims that the car has been garaged kept its entire life and driven a scant 36,000 miles. The paint and bodywork are in perfect condition and even the wheels and mirrors—which tend to show their age—are impeccable. The interior looks nearly showroom fresh and the engine compartment is a detailing away from appearing the same. We’ve always wanted a 3.2 Carrera and would think long and hard about his particular car if it could be had for a price below the current $39,500 Buy-It-Now number. Find it for sale here on eBay in Santa Monica, California.
