The good news? This a factory produced, Irish Green 1970 Porsche 914-6. The bad news? The seller has no feedback. Normally when we see fantastic cars like this 914-6 listed by sellers with no eBay history there’s no chance they’ll get written up. But there’s something about this particular listing that seems real. For starters, there’s the writeup which is logical, detailed and without the strange translation errors that turn up in fraudulent ads. In it the seller describes a largely original, rust free car that underwent a sympathetic restoration in 2005 and had substantial work completed by highly qualified and respected craftsmen. The car was not completely disassembled but the paint and interior are new and much of the mechanical systems have been refurbished or rebuilt. Photos show the car to be in absolutely stunning condition with perfect paint, fine original 15” Fuchs alloy wheels and an absolutely impeccable interior. Most importantly, the listing says nothing about wire transfers and the seller has included a phone number for interested parties to ask questions. From every angle this appears to be a fantastic 914-6 and, if we were in the market for one, we wouldn’t hesitate to arrange an inspection. While cautioning your readers is a good idea, I believe that you are doing your readers a disservice in this description and also in your last article about the MB 300SL Gullwing I had listed. It is always good to be cautious, especially with an EBay transaction, but I do not believe that you need to focus on pointing out ‘red flags’ so much, as they have now become the hallmark of these posts.
Cheers,

Don’t point out red flags? Me thinks the owner of the Mercedes-Benz 500 K just confiscated by German police would disagree.
Hi there!
Well, it looks pretty good to me, just some things I would point out:
The Steering wheel doesn’t seem original, but I actually have a big doubt that it was some sort of optional, mine has a similar steering wheel… my father (the previous and only owner) says he doesn’t remember if it came with it… 1970′s came with 14″ and 15″ I think depending on the market they were introduced, the restoration is impeccable and I think the car could hit the 40,000 + mark. One more thing… I am very jealous of the original blaupunkt radio… I had the same and was stolen.
Great post thanks!
Here is my restoration project:
