Picture Perfect – 1964 Alfa Romeo TZ1

We could say lots of impressive things about this 1964 Alfa Romeo TZ1, but with images this captivating, who’ll read them? Yes, it’s one of just 124 built. It weighs 1,400lbs and makes upwards of 160bhp. Its Giulia four cylinder engine is canted for aerodynamics and sports a twin-plug cylinder head. The handmade tubular frame is cloaked in an aluminum Zagato body incorporating the famous, shortened “Kamm” tail. It won whether racing against prototypes or other GTs. Impressive specifications and credentials, these. But nothing compared to the photos. Like these that show this particular car to be absolutely smashing in its original blue livery and with a fastidiously clean and well sorted interior and engine compartment. Better still, the Alfa Romeo is eligible for nearly every major event with its included HTP papers. Small in stature and with absolutely perfect proportions, Alfa Romeo TZ1s continue to reduce competitors, gearheads and non-automotive types to wide-eyed amazement. Find this one for sale here in London, England on Gregor Fiskens’ website with the price not disclosed.

Absolutely stunning cars! The TZ (it is only the TZ1 in comparison to the TZ2. It was never called the TZ1) represents the peak of Alfa Romeo’s racing program and its collaboration with Zagato and Autodelta. In the 1960′s, the TZ, TZ2, GTA, GTAm, Giulia TI Super and the more powerful Tipo 33 series cars were all winners and are growing quickly in value and interest as vintage racers today.
