Before offending the world’s parents with their Frappuccino-spilling supermodel, Abarth offended race competitors with devilishly quick cars as sinister as a basket full of puppies. They’re cute, these Abarths. Always have been, and probably always will be, coffee and cleavage notwithstanding. They’re also very, very fast and shocked the world by storming to victory in nearly every small-bore racing series in which they entered. This particular 1968 Fiat Abarth 595 SS displays this Jekyll and Hyde personality with cute 12″ wheels, cute interior, cute size, cute cloth sunroof and a feather-light weight that allows the Abarth to hound far larger and more powerful competitors on all but the straightest of roads and largest of race tracks. Photos of the SS shows most of the rare and expensive Abarth equipment in place including the cast aluminum oil pan and the difficult to replace trim, and the car is said to have been completely restored in Italy before being imported recently into the United States. As fake Abarths are common, we’d have an Abarth specialist validate the car before purchase. Then we’d annoy Ferrari owners by giving them a run for their money through the turns and getting more looks at the stoplight. Find the Abarth for sale here on eBay in San Mateo, California.
