Stormy Weathered – 1962 Pontiac Tempest Lemans

Found on blocks in a concrete floored barn, this heavily weathered 1962 Pontiac Tempest Lemans needs a drivetrain and seats to get back to racing for pink slips and frightening children. The seller indicates that the Tempest recently had 326 Pontiac V8 installed and that the car was driven on the road two weeks ago. The front and rear wheels and tires were found with the car and the Pontiac displays a litany of period drag race mods like cut rear fenders, adjustable suspension, a driveshaft hoop, and hood cutouts for a crossram intake. Better than these, however, is the utterly mesmerizing patina. The metallic green paint is flaking off in huge sections and the Pontiac gives the impression it’s piloted by death himself. We love it. If the Pontiac were ours we’d stuff a period correct (and really loud) V8 under the hood and thunder into local car shows, the parking lot of high-end concours, the grocery store, the library and anywhere else pavement abounds. Find the former drag racer for sale here on eBay in Lockport, New York.
