The 1967 cinematic classic The Graduate was a lie. Had Dustin Hoffman’s character really wanted to impress the ladies his Alfa Romeo would have been a pre-’66 Spider like this 1965 Veloce. What with their elegant chrome trim front and rear, perfect proportions, and spirited, weber-carbureted twin cam engine, Spider Veloces possess beauty and performance in spades. This particular car proves this point with clean, seemingly corrosion free bodywork and largely original everything save the exterior paint which was originally black. An important point, this last bit, as these cars are downright lust-worthy in a black over red color combination. We particularly like that one owner enjoyed this car from 1965 to 2012 and that the car appears solid and all original car from nearly every angle. And as the color change from black to the current red only touched the exterior of the car, we’d seriously consider repainting the Alfa black and then patinating the new paint so that the original surfaces elsewhere wouldn’t be diminished by comparison. That, or enjoy it as is. Find the Alfa Romeo for sale here on eBay in Bethel, Connecticut.
