Very Grand Touring – 1972 Maserati Ghibli 4.9 SS

While dark blue over saddle leather is always a dynamite color combination, it’s even better when applied to a canvas like this 1972 Maserati Ghibli SS 4.9. Ghiblis after all, have always possessed fantastic early seventies styling, a dynamic four-cam engine, spacious interior and excellent road manners. And while we’ve long remarked that they are the best deals from the era of Lamborghini Miuras and Ferrari Daytonas, the days of relatively inexpensive Ghiblis is drawing to a close as more and more people realize just how good they are. This particular Ghibli benefits from exceptional condition having travelled just 43,000 miles and been completely restored in the late ‘90s. The paint appears to be in exceptional condition and the saddle leather is so pretty it’s hard to look at the photos and not imagine oneself ensconced comfortably in the cabin and enjoying some high speed touring. Finally, the engine bay is reasonably well presented but would need cosmetic freshening before showing. As one of the later and more desirable 4.9 liter cars this Ghibli boasts 350hp (15 more than the standard Ghibli) and enjoys the cache of being the highest spec car short of the ultra-rare Ghibli Spyder. If this were ours we we’d pack a bag and take the missus for a trip anywhere the roads are curvy and infrequently travelled. Find the Ghibli for sale here on eBay in Westchester, New York with the reserve not yet met at $69,900.
