If you’re a devotee of French sports and GT cars and you live in the U.S., your calendar isn’t exactly crammed with opportunities to rub shoulders with your fellow enthusiasts amid a field filled with the objects of your affection.
But even if it were, the annual Citroën Rendezvous would still have to be at the top of the list. This year marks the 32nd annual Rendezvous, which returns to the resort town of Saratoga Springs, New York, June 13-15. Just because it’s the largest Citroën gathering in North America, don’t go thinking that other French marques aren’t just as welcome: There’s room for Renaults, Panhards, Peugeots, Simcas, and all the rest, too.
What would a French car show be without French cuisine? The Rendezvous starts on the evening of June 12, with a prix-fixe gourmet meal at local eaterie Chez Sophie. On Friday afternoon at 2, enthusiasts gather at the Parting Glass, an Irish pub in Saratoga Springs, for some beer tasting and light snacks. The show takes place on Saturday, with Citroën-specific vendors, tech sessions, people’s choice voting, games and live entertainment featured.
This year’s show wishes a happy 60th birthday to the legendary Citroën 2CV. For more information or to register, visit www.driveshesaid.com.
