Derek Bell Named Sebring 12 Hours Grand Marshal

Endurance racing legend Derek Bell has been named Grand Marshal for the 58th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

A five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Bell also won the two World Sports Car Championships. He ranks third on Sebring’s all-time podium finishes list with four second-place and two-third place finishes. He was elected to the Sebring Sports Car Racing Hall of Fame in 2008.

“Derek is a living legend of endurance racing,” stated Sebring President and General Manager Tres Stephenson. “We are honored to have him serve as Grand Marshal.”

Bell will also serve as MC for the Sebring Hall of Fame Luncheon on Friday, March 19th at the Four Points by Sheraton Chateau Elan Hotel (for tickets call Jan Shoop at 800-626-7223 x218).

Additionally, the Sebring Hall of Fame autograph session takes place on Friday at 2:30pm in the Gallery of Legends building featuring former Sebring winners Hurley Haywood, Derek Daly, John Morton and Hans Herrmann. The Gallery Legends also includes a display of historic Sebring cars, including legendary Porsches and Jaguars.
