The Dragone Auctions Greenwich 2015 sale will be staged Saturday, May 30th in Westport, Connecticut during the weekend of the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance. Dragone’s event will feature a selection of motor cars, from the brass era to modern sports cars.

Among the headline offerings at Dragone’s Greenwich 2015 sale is a 1951 Simca Abarth SC Cabriolet with Extra Lusso coachwork by Stabilimenti Farina. Built specially for Roger Barlow, owner of International Motors in Hollywood, the supercharged Simca with Abarth factory tuning recently received a full restoration to factory new condition. Barlow was a dealer to the movie stars, selling cars to Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe, among others. His ‘B’ is still displayed on the back of the Simca (Est. $400,000 – $500,000).

Also offered at the Dragone Greenwich 2015 sale is a 1911 Mercer Type 35 Toy Tonneau, referred by Dragone as the “first high speed GT car for four passengers as the running gear is identical to a Raceabout.” This Mercer, which was unearthed by Austin Clark in the 1950s, is the only example of an original Toy Tonneau in existence. It was restored by Ralph Buckley for New York collector Miles Coverdale who owned the Type 35 until his death (Est. $1,500,000 – $1,800,000).

The May 2015 auction will also feature cars that have been tucked away for decades, including a 1937 Rolls Royce Phantom III Brewster Newmarket Perminent Faux Cabriolet (Est. $185,000 – $225,000) offered after being stored away for 45 years in a garage and a 1966 Maserati Sebring Mk II (Est. $110,000 – $130,000) under the same ownership since 1976.
