We get a lot of mail here at SCD with many readers taking time to share old pictures and memories with us. Below is a recent email from Dick Irish that he sent in along with some pics of a very beautiful Ford that's had some Italian hands work it over.
-- 60+ years ago I was asked by Jimmy Mulgrew of Euclid Ford in Cleveland, Ohio, to drive a new Ford Tudor to New York where Tony Pompeo shipped it to Italy. There the chassis was shortened a foot and the car was rebodied as shown in these photos taken on Euclid's showroom after it's return about three months later (no I did NOT get the opportunity to drive it back). The car disappeared for YEARS, Jimmy is no longer with us, but it has reappeared and is now being lovingly restored by Stephen Glenn. Should ANY of your readers/viewers have any info of this unique vehicle; sharing it will serve the automotive world a GREAT service! Thanks, Dick Irish Edmond, OK -- Thanks for sharing this with us Dick. Cheers! Will Silk Last edited by Will Silk; 04-02-2011 at 01:48 PM. |
