Luigi Musso Historic Grand Prix 2012 – Report and Photos

The Luigi Musso Historic Grand Prix 2012 was staged 20-21 October at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari nearby Imola, Italy. More than 8,000 spectators watched the historic race cars compete on the 17-turn, 3.050-mile Imola circuit for the 2nd annual event named after famed Italian racing driver Luigi Musso.

The 2012 edition of the Luigi Musso Historic Grand Prix played host to multiple historic race championships, including Boss GP, HGPCA pre-1966 series, Trofeo Giunti, Alfa Revival Cup, the F3 Historic Cup, Campionato Italino Autostoriche, Challenge Formule Storiche and the final race of the season for Historic Group C / GTP Racing for cars built between 1982 and 1993.

Race winners at Luigi Musso Historic Grand Prix 2012 included Valerio Leone (F3 Historic Cup – Ralt RT3); Pierre Tonetti (Historical Challenge Formulas – Brabham BT6); Alex Furiani (Alfa Romeo Revival Cup – Alfa Romeo GTA 1.6); Bernd Herndlhofer and Marijin Van Kalmthout (Boss GP – Dallara GP3 and Benetton B197 F1); Mike Donovan (Historic Group C – Spice SE88); Peter Horsman (HGPCA – Lotus 18/21); and Silvio Kalb and Michele Liguori (Trophy Ignazio Giunti – March 76S and Lola T292 ).
