History of Speed at New Jersey Motorsports – Photo Gallery

1973 McRae GM-1 F5000 driven by Jim StengelThe New Jersey Vintage Race – History of Speed was held October 2-4, 2009 on 2.25 mile Thunderbolt Raceway at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey.

Sanctioned by SVRA, the New Jersey Vintage Races featured 10 groups, with practice and qualifying sessions on Friday and Saturday mornings before each group races on Saturday afternoon. A Sunday warm-up preceded the final feature races later that afternoon.

Additionally, Saturday’s racing activities ran concurrently to the World War II Warbirds at Millville, an open house of rare historic airplanes at the nearby Millville Airport.
