Night at the Museum Gala – RM Auctions and AACA

RM Auctions, the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) and the AACA Museum will turn back the clock this October for their much-anticipated, fifties-inspired Night at the Museum fundraising gala in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Following in the footsteps of last year’s sell out event, the October 8th charity gala at Hershey’s AACA Museum will be an engaging celebration of the automobile and the collecting hobby. Dedicated to raising funds to help preserve our automotive heritage, the event will kick off festivities for this year’s annual AACA Eastern Division Fall meet in Pennsylvania.

“RM shares the AACA’s commitment and dedication to both celebrating and preserving automotive history,” said Rob Myers, President and CEO of RM Auctions.

“A must attend event for motoring enthusiasts in town for the Hershey meet, this year’s Night at the Museum event will provide a wonderful opportunity to share our collective passion for the industry, mingle with friends and dig deep to support the work of the AACA and the future of our industry,” he added.

Coinciding with the Museum’s striking FINS exhibit, which comprises of twenty five tail-finned, chrome-covered highway cruisers, the Night at the Museum event will celebrate the fabulous fifties – a theme that will be echoed in the decorations, refreshments, and entertainment. To add to the fun nature of the event, guests are encouraged to dress in theme – think leather jackets for the guys and poodle skirts for the girls!

Guests will be guided through the evening by celebrity emcee and passionate car collector, Ed Herrmann, who will share personal anecdotes from his extensive film and television career, as well as his passion for the collector car hobby. Joining Herrmann center stage will be Hemmings Editor-in-Chief, Richard Lentinello, and Bill Warner, founder of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, who will also offer remarks on the industry.

Additional entertainment for the evening will include live music, a silent auction, and a live auction of automotive lifestyle gifts and experiences conducted by the ever exuberant, Bill Parfet. Of special interest during the live auction will be a series of unique, individually customized pedal cars by some of today’s leading automotive restorers and designers. Whilst the majority of these miniature rolling works of art will cross the block at RM’s Vintage Motor Cars at Hershey event on Friday 10th October, a number will also be offered at the Night at the Museum event. All proceeds from the evening and the pedal car sales will support the AACA family.

The Night at the Museum fundraising gala will act as a prelude to RM’s annual, much anticipated Vintage Motor Cars at Hershey auction event on October 10th. Last year’s inaugural event saw the record sale of an unrestored 1911 Oldsmobile Limited 7-Passenger Touring for an impressive $1.65 million. There are bound to be more surprises this year.
