Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance 2012 Information

1939 Delahaye 165 by Figoni et Falaschi, Peter MullinThe Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance 2012 will be held September 16th at Trump National Golf Club, Rancho Palos Verdes, California. The 20th annual event will feature “Classic French Curves” and Delahaye, with French car collectors Peter and Merle Mullin serving as Grand Marshals.

“Our featured marque will be Delahaye, which made some of the most luxurious and elegant classic French cars,” said Exhibit Chairman Ray Johnson. “We will feature the cars of coachbuilders or carrossiers, famous for their graceful and sometimes flamboyant designs, such as Delahaye, Bugatti, Chapron, Pourtout, Figoni et Falaschi, Franay, Letourneur et Marchand, Delages, Hispano-Suiza, Talbot-Lagos and Voisin,” Johnson stated.

The 21 classes at the 2012 Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance will range from French curves to American muscles, including: Delahaye; French Coachwork; American Classics – Open and Closed; European Classics; Ford Model A; Pre-War Chevrolet; Utility Vehicles; Post-War French Touring; Post-War; European Luxury; American Fins; Pony Cars; American Muscle
Post-War European Sports Under 3 Liters; Jaguar Sports Cars XK120, 140, 150; Jaguar E-Type; Porsche 356; Porsche 900 Series; Ferrari; Monte Carlo Rallye Tribute and Motorcycles.

“While we will pay tribute to the beauty of our featured Marque, the elegant Delahaye and other classic beauties, we will also feature rugged American styles,” said Chairman Peter Kunoth.

In addition to viewing more than 200 exhibited cars, visitors to the 2012 Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance can see craftsmen at work in Restoration Alley, examine show cars in the display areas and more. The Concours will be preceded by a Road Rallye on Saturday, September 15th, 2012.

The Palos Verdes Concours is a 501 (c) (3) charity event with proceeds benefitting the Palos Verdes Art Center’s educational and community outreach programs and Palos Verdes Rotary Foundation Charities, including Harbor Area Boys & Girls Clubs.
