Porsche Werks Reunion – New Monterey Week Event

Porsche 911A new event solely focused on the cars of Porsche will be held Friday, August 15th, 2014, during the Monterey Classic Car Week. The Porsche Club of America’s inaugural Werks Reunion will be staged at the Rancho Canada Golf Club in Monterey, California.

In years past, the Porsche Club of America (PCA) co-hosted Legends of the Autobahn at the Rancho Canada Golf Club with the BMW Car Club of America, Mercedes-Benz Club of America and Audi Club of North America. For 2014, PCA, with participation from Porsche Cars North America, will break away from the other German marques to create a dedicated event to celebrate Porsche automobiles on the same fairways.

Manny Alban, PCA National President, commented, “We are thankful to BMWCCA for including us in the Legends of the Autobahn events and wish them the best of luck in 2014 and beyond. Monterey car week has so many enthusiasts that descend on the peninsula to celebrate all things automotive related. We feel there is plenty of room for another car show.”

Werks Reunion is open to all and tagged as “A Porsche Gathering” for a reason: PCA is inviting other Porsche clubs to join. Werks Reunion is intended to be a way for all owners to mingle during Monterey Car Week. As a result, the Porsche Owners Club, Porsche Racing Club, 356 Registry, 356 Club, Early 911S Registry, R Gruppe, 914 World, and all Porsche clubs and registries are welcome. PCA membership is not required.

Organizers anticipate a comprehensive display of Porsches, from rare classics to customs, race cars, current models, and everything in between. National PCA Sponsors will also be present with exhibits and displays.

Alban continued, “Even though the event is run by PCA, we want to reiterate that all Porsche owners and enthusiasts are welcome. Membership to PCA is not required to show a car or come admire them. In the end, we’ve all been bitten by that same Porsche bug.”

The Porsche Werks Reunion will feature both judged cars and people’s choice area. Special trophies are being made just for this event. Other Porsche owners will have the opportunity to include their car in the display only Porsche corral. Unlike many other events, an invitation to enter your car is not required nor is there a charge to simply come and admire the cars. All will be treated to a display of more than 500 Porsches, access vendors, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow car enthusiasts.
