The 2008 Rocky Mountain Concours d’Elegance will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado on the grounds of the famed Broadmoor Resort over Labor Day weekend, August 29th – September 1st.
This year’s Rocky Mountain Concours will welcome Bobby, Al Senior and other members of the Unser family, as it spotlights this renowned racing family’s achievements on the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. Additionally, the history (1928 to 1955) of the British-built Vincent motorcycle will be highlighted.
The Concours d’Elegance show field, located on the first and second fairways of the Broadmoor’s West Course, opens to the general public at 9:00 a.m.
A special Unser Racing Museum tent displaying some of the Unser’s historic Pikes Peak Hillclimb cars will be set amidst the show field of 120 Classic, historic, racing and vintage automobiles, plus 60 motorcycle concours entries – where Vincent motorbikes will receive special recognition with a comprehensive display of the British company’s 1928-1955 history. Other visual pleasures will be on display (and available for purchase) in the Artist’s Grotto area of the show field as well.
The Rocky Mountain Concours d’Elegance debuted successfully in 2007, according to Dan Kane, event co-founder and chairman.
“We had a stellar field of 132 judged vehicles that included 28 motorcycles. An additional 93 vehicles were part of special non-judged displays. The Gateway Canyons Resort here in Colorado and Mercedes-Benz Classic Center USA in Irvine, California demonstrated their trust in us by being presenting sponsors of our first-year event.”

The Albuquerque, New Mexico-based Unser Racing Museum will display several of the cars that an Unser has competed with on Pikes Peak.”
