Seller Comments: “This particular car was built in 1965 and is well-known as being among the most original examples in existence. It is still in its ORIGINAL PAINT, one of perhaps five original production GT350s that remain so, and the car has known history from new. It remains a stunning and mechanically tight example that is truly a pleasure to drive. It comes with a number of extra parts, as well as its original Shelby American production line tag, leather seatbelt flap (another unique to Shelby part used in conjunction with the 3-inch competition belts fitted to the cars), and original owner`s manual. This car is rust and accident free, numbers matching, and has no excuses whatsoever.”

“The interior is beautifully preserved, with almost no signs of aging to the dashboard or seats. The headliner is excellent as well. The carpets show some fading but are otherwise excellent, while the instruments are well-preserved, including the unique `CS` emblazoned oil pressure gauge and tachometer. The engine compartment and trunk are both unrestored and tidy. Details such as the original washer bag, FoMoCo hoses, and Holley distributor cap are testaments to the car`s originality, while the unique to the GT350 sand cast valve covers and chrome oil filler cap are still present.”

“The car has been properly maintained and drives wonderfully. It has a wonderful tight coherent feel that is present in well cared for cars that have never been disassembled or modified. It really does give the impression of a new car, with an extraordinarily taut and crisp feel, and of course, excellent performance.”

Shelby GT350 Market: The January – May 2008 Cars That Matter Price Guide advocates a $223,000 – $389,000 range for a Shelby GT350. Given the unique original condition of this car, the asking price is probably market correct.

Sports Car Digest Comments: This rare ’65 model Shelby GT350 has to be one of the most original examples in existence today. For the collector that values originality, patina and a known history, this survivor would make a very nice addition to their collection.
