As I am gearing up to take my old MK3 "S" Mini to race again. There's really an immense truth about these venerable Minis - "Bends the rules, Rules the bends". I've gone to every classic festival at Silverstone since it was called the Coy's Historic in the 90s. Last year was great, yet this year the ticket price doubled. New organisers! I sincerely hope other people did the same thing and stayed away. Maybe next year the organisers will come to their senses and lower the price again.Max is right about the alfa. I love to see the lotus cortinas and the mini cooper S's battling it out. They used to run with the galaxies and falcons too. Such a thing to see the mighty galaxy overtaking the minis down the straight, and then having to brake half a mile before the bend and then get swamped by the minis going around it, under it, over it through the bend and the the galaxy thundering by again.
