Hot on the heels of the success of the new Supercar forward parking area at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Goodwood is introducing a new infield parking area at the 2013 Goodwood Revival (13-15 September).
This new Revival infield car park – known as the Hawthorn Infield Parking – allows owners of pre-1966 vehicles the option to become an part of the Goodwood Revival. This new 200 vehicle daily capacity, pre-1966 vehicle park, will be located inside the Goodwood Motor Circuit perimeter at the Revival, positioned on the inside of circuit, along the Lavant Straight.
Any motor car or commercial vehicle built and registered before the end of 1966 (i.e. a suffix of registration D or older) should be eligible at Goodwood’s discretion for entry into the new Hawthorn infield parking area, although for this inaugural year motorcycles can not be permitted.
The Hawthorn infield parking enables Revival visitors to have their vehicle at the core of the event, as both an added attraction, but also conveniently located near the racing action and paddock attractions to pop back to the car for a picnic, sun cream, and so on. Hawthorn parking will cost £70 for Revival Friday and £90 per day for Revival Saturday and Sunday.
As all Revival tickets for Saturday 14 September have now sold out, the Hawthorn Infield Parking is the only way to gain entry into the Goodwood motor circuit for that day. Pre-1966 vehicle owners wishing to book a space in the Hawthorn parking for that day are advised to telephone the Goodwood Ticket Office as quickly as possible on +44 (0)1243 755055.
The Hawthorn Infield Parking is an additional attraction to the Goodwood Revival, and customers will still need valid general admission tickets in order to gain entry into the event. Only vehicles with the dedicated Hawthorn Parking label will be directed to the infield parking entrance towards the Lavant Straight by traffic marshals. They will enter via a dedicated gate, and all vehicles must be on-site by 08:00 on Friday and by 08:30 on Saturday and Sunday at the very latest. The special entrance (Gate 11) will open each day at 07:00. Vehicles will not be able to leave the Hawthorn Parking area until motor circuit track activity has finished for the day.
Vehicles that do not meet the pre-1966 credentials of the Hawthorn Infield Parking (regardless of whether they have the correct Parking label), or arrive too late, will be redirected to park in a nearby public Car Park.
Tickets (Saturday sold out) and more information can be found at Goodwood Motorsport.
