William King Estate Auction Information

1962 Chevy Corvette Fuel Injected Roadster pictureThe estate of drag racer and Corvette and Indian motorcycle collector William King is being auctioned by Penny Worley Auctioneers. Described as the “ultimate barn find estate auction of the century for Corvette and Indian motorcycle collectors,” the auction will be held online until October 16th, 2011.
“William L. King, Jr., was a super collector, and this is truly the mother of all barn finds for car enthusiasts,” explained Jerry Jenkins of Penny Worley Auctioneers. “He was big in the drag racing scene in the 1960’s and over the last 50 years he amassed a collection of classic cars and motorcycles, engines, frames, parts and accessories, including many classic Corvettes, Indian 4 motorcycles and Harley Davidson.”
Jenkins said there are several motorcycles up for bids, including: a 1941 Indian 4 barn fresh four cylinder with true matching numbers (bike frame and engine numbers match); a 1940 Indian Chief matching numbers bike; a 1936 Indian Rigid Four (upside down four), with true matching numbers; and a 1951 to 1953 Indian Brave rigid frame; 1940 Indian 4 Roller with sidecar; a 1932 Indian 4 Roller; a 1965 Harley Davidson FLH Pan Head; and a 1967 Harley Davidson FLH Electra Glide.
Among the Corvettes in this auction is a 1962 Chevy Corvette, fuel Injected 360hp, all-original 4-speed transmission and numbers matching car. There is also a 1966 Chevy Corvette Stingray, a 1956 Corvette rolling chassis (no engine), a 1967 Chevy Corvette convertible with hard top rolling chassis (no engine) in primer.
“To say Mr. King hoarded classic parts is an understatement,” said Jenkins. “He was known to go to swap meets and buy out everything. We have found hidden attics, cubbies and closets all packed with parts and accessories. There were nine outbuildings and silos stacked so high you couldn’t walk in them.”
In addition, there are many estate items up for bids including firearms, mini bikes, scooters, golf carts, tractors, trailers, farm equipment, vintage toys, antiques, collectibles and more.
The online auction is open to the public. Bidders must register prior to bidding. Bidding ends October 16, 2011. Items are located in Hamilton, Ohio.
