1930 Cadillac V16 295x196 Worldwide Auctioneers Auburn 2011   Auction ResultsWorldwide Auctioneers held their fourth annual Auburn Auction on September 2-4, 2011 at the Worldwide Auction Park in Auburn, Indiana, resulting in overall sales of $13.2 million and record attendance.

“This was in every respect our most successful event ever in Auburn”, said Rod Egan, Principal & Chief Auctioneer. “Record sales, record attendance and a global audience of bidders, both on-site and over the telephone. We are delighted to have seen pre-war motorcars, American classics, European sports cars and American muscle cars all selling with equal success to bidders from across North America and as far afield as Russia, Australia and Europe. Auburn is our home town and our aim is to put it right back on the map at the epicenter of the collector car world.”

Top sale at the 2011 Worldwide Auburn Auction went to the 1932 Duesenberg Model J-356 Derham Bodied Tourster at $880,000, followed by the 1930 Cadillac V16 Fleetwood Convertible Coupe which sold for $363,000 and the 1955 Hudson Italia GT Coupe that made $352,000.

The barn-find 1948 Delahaye 135M Cabriolet by Chapron, undiscovered in a Washington barn for 35 years until earlier this year, sold for $247,500. No less than six no reserve private collections were on offer during the weekend, including a selection of award winning hot-rods from the Fred Kohl Estate Collection, with one of its highlights, a 1937 Ford ‘Z-Rod’ Coupe, selling for $198,000.
