Worldwide Auctioneers held their fourth annual Auburn Auction on September 2-4, 2011 at the Worldwide Auction Park in Auburn, Indiana, resulting in overall sales of $13.2 million and record attendance.
“This was in every respect our most successful event ever in Auburn”, said Rod Egan, Principal & Chief Auctioneer. “Record sales, record attendance and a global audience of bidders, both on-site and over the telephone. We are delighted to have seen pre-war motorcars, American classics, European sports cars and American muscle cars all selling with equal success to bidders from across North America and as far afield as Russia, Australia and Europe. Auburn is our home town and our aim is to put it right back on the map at the epicenter of the collector car world.”
Top sale at the 2011 Worldwide Auburn Auction went to the 1932 Duesenberg Model J-356 Derham Bodied Tourster at $880,000, followed by the 1930 Cadillac V16 Fleetwood Convertible Coupe which sold for $363,000 and the 1955 Hudson Italia GT Coupe that made $352,000.
