2015 is set to be another active year for Bentley Drivers Club (BDC) competitors and spectators alike. Three key dates are already firmly set in the Club’s 2015 calendar and there are more potential events in the pipeline too.

On 9th May the Club will host their annual Sprint meeting at the MIRA proving ground in Warwickshire. This informal yet competitive event is always a popular season opener with a number of guest clubs and individuals as the BDC event provides an almost unique opportunity to compete at this highly secure site which hosts only a few such events each year.

Roll the calendar into June and a full Club weekend sees the Summer Rally and Concours at the Club House in Wroxton on Saturday 27th June where race competitors will provide a feature display before a mass depart to Donington Park.

On Sunday 28th June, BDC have once again taken an all-Bentley Grid at the Aston Martin Owners Club (AMOC) Racing Donington Park event. Bentleys spanning many decades will take to the track for a 20-minute scratch race.

Duncan Wiltshire, Race Co-ordinator for AMOC Racing commented, “AMOC Racing are delighted to see the Bentley Drivers Club return to our event in 2015. Last year’s wet race was thrilling for competitors and spectators who braved the torrential conditions. Whatever the weather this is a great event, showcasing open and closed wheel racing made even more exciting by the huge speed differentials between the span of cars from 3 Litres to modern GT cars.”

The highlight of the Bentley Drivers Club 2015 season is the Club’s annual Bentley Silverstone race meeting on 1st August. The meeting, known for its friendly and informal atmosphere, is a great favourite of many competitors, marshal and spectators alike, and 2015 marks the 66th consecutive visit to the Northamptonshire track.

Current plans are for nine or ten grids overall featuring a diverse range of cars from AC, MG, Porsche, Aston Martin and the traditional Morgan Championship round. Of course there will be plenty of Bentley action with two dedicated all-Bentley grids, a scratch and handicap race and even more Bentley action with various ‘allcomers’ grids.

Club Competitions Captain Sebastian Welch said, “It’s a celebration of Club racing at its best, where all makes and models compete against each other in a fiercely amicable way. In fact as long as you are a member of one of our invited clubs you are very welcome to join us no matter what make of car you wish to race”.

This event is one not to miss for any Bentley enthusiast, with hundreds of Bentleys on display and a Club parade on track.
