Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance Corporate Award Winners

The 2009 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance was held on the fairways of The Golf Club of Amelia Island adjacent to The Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island, Florida.

With more than 250 cars in attendance, many deserving cars were not honored with a Best in Class or Amelia (2nd or 3rd) awards in their respective class. However, that doesn’t mean they weren’t noticed or appreciated by the rest of the crowd.

In addition to the previously profiled Best in Show, Concours d’Elegance and Concours de Sport winners, the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance also presents the Corporate Awards, which as the name implies are given by various corporate entities to their favorite cars.

Awards range from People’s Choice to the Most Significant Car of David Hobbs to the Best Car in Which to Tour Napa Valley. While the awards are certainly less competitive than the Best in Show or Class Awards, many are still very cherished by the entrants.

Those in attendance vote for the “People’s Choice” award, which was awarded to a 1936 Delahaye 135 Competition Coupe that didn’t even place in its class.

  1. Frank Saglimbeni says:

Each of cars that received the awards are beautiful especially the Ferrari 512 Kirk F White and campaigned by Penske & Donohue is beautiful and the color of Sunoco Livery is outstanding. The other car that stands out as incredible is the Lamborghini Muira 1967 fantastic seeing it in an unusual color of black and in its first year. Totally awesome. I wish I had each one of them.

  2. There are so many incredible cars; the Fiat 8V Supersonic is the one I want in my garage.

  4. John Gleaton says:

In case you are interested, the largest MICRO car exhibit of well over 300 cars is in Madison, Georgia (google double bubble, Madison,Ga. A Mr Weiner (of bubble gum fame) has built this extremely complete collection and has a large building showing most of them on Double Bubble Acres just outside of Madison, Georgia. That is only about 30 miles from my home and most people around here do not even know it exists. I think it would make a very good addition to the AIC next year. He keeps at least 15 or so of these gassed up and ready to drive and some are in restoration, etc.I have gone to the Pebble Beach Concours for about four years now (and going this August) but plan to be at the AIC in March 2010.

  5. great site–how about the lancia stratos????
