Monaco Historic Grand Prix 2012 – Behind the Scenes

The 2012 running of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix was staged 11-13 May on the famed 19-turn, 2.075 mile Circuit de Monaco on the public streets of Monte Carlo. The biennial ‘Historics’ offer great racing, to be sure, but similar to other top events, the on-track action is only part of the experience.

For those among us who can’t decide whether to gaze at multi-million dollar cars or boats, there is Monaco. There, timeless, pre-war Bugattis, Maseratis and Alfa Romeos battle in the shadow of private mega yachts like the ultra-modern, Philippe Stark-designed 394-foot “A” yacht and all can be seen without moving from one’s seat in the grandstand, on the hotel balconies overhead or now, thanks to our many photo galleries, in front of your own computer screen. The sound may be different but the price and the air conditioning are just right.

In addition to Dirk de Jager’s Monaco Historic Report and Photos and Tim Scott’s Monaco Historics Picture Gallery, we also offer the following 135 “Behind the Scenes” pictures (courtesy of Tim Scott) that give a strong feel for the off-track action, scenery and unique experience that only the ‘Historics’ and Monte Carlo can provide. To see more from Tim, visit fluidimages.co.uk.
